How to use SoftRingTone
 
Starting SoftRingTone 1 Standard Edition
Via the Menu
  • Select Start
  • Select Programs
  • Select BuzzSoft
  • Select SoftRingTone
  • Select the SoftRingTone 1 Standard Edition icon.

Via SoftOffice
If SoftOffice is installed the toolbar will display the SoftRingTone icon. Click on it and SoftRingTone will start.

Accounts

When SoftRingTone starts you are asked to Login or Open a new account.

Opening a new Account

If this is the first time you have used SoftRingTone then you should open an account. To do this you must provide your email address, a password and an Account name. When you click on "Open an Account" the information will be passed to our server where it will be checked to make sure that it does not already exist.
  • Enter your Email address (You should use your active email address because should you forget your password we will email it to you at this address).
  • Enter a password. (Your password must be 12 characters or less).
  • Enter your full name in the "Account Name" box.
  • Click on "Open a new account".
The mobile display will show that you have no tones available or pending. Pending tones are ones which have been ordered but the payment has not been authorised yet. BuzzSoft authorise the payments and transfer tones from pending to available.

Logging in to an existing Account

You enter the email address and password and select the "Login" button. The details are checked on our server and if a match is found the status of your account is shown in the mobile display. As you login the latest RingTone list is loaded to your computer and SoftRingTone enables you to look at it. Your Phone book is also downloaded from our Internet server. The process of downloading both of these takes only a few seconds.

Changing Account

To change to a different account you must first "log off". If you are already logged in click on the login status button and you will log off.
Click on the button again and you will be asked to login. The same will happen if you click on the "Send tone" button or the "$ Charge button".

Buying RingTones

Before you can send a RingTone you must buy Tones to put into your account. They can be purchased in blocks of 5, 10, 15 or 20. You pay in any of up to 35 different currencies.
Click on the "$ Charge button". Your browser will be launched and you will be taken to a page on our web site which will enable you to order Tones.
Once you order your Tones we will authorise payment and transfer their status from Pending to Available. You will be notified by email (your account email address) when this happens.

Phone book

The phone book contains contact Names and a Mobile number. Every time you login the phone book is loaded from our server into memory on the PC you are using. If any of the details change then the phone book will be stored back to our server when you logoff or close SoftRingTone.

How to add names and mobile numbers to your Phone Book
  1. Click on the "Book" icon.
  2. Complete the phone book details as follows
    • Type in the name of the recipient.
    • Type in their mobile number, using the international numbering system i.e. the British number 07234 123456 becomes +44 7234 123456
  3. Click the Insert/Edit button.
Sending a RingTone
  • Click on the "Send RingTone button".
  • Enter the mobile number of the person to send the Tone to. Alternatively select from the Phone book or the "Pull down" list.The Mobile number must be in an international format. i.e. For a UK mobile it must be prefixed with either +44 or 0044 without the following 0.
Selecting a RingTone

You can choose from the current Top 10 list or from hundreds of Artists. Choose the Artist and then select the Track. To jump around the list you can use the keyboard. Press the first letter of the Artist you are searching for and the list will start from that letter. Select your RingTone.

The Phone

Select the type of phone you want to send the RingTone to. If the phone is not in the list seek advice before you send the phone a RingTone as it may not work. Our website has full details of available ringtones and also compatible phones. When you have selected the model of Phone click the "Send" button. The Tone will be sent. In most instances it will be delivered within a few seconds.

Playing a RingTone before Sending

Select a RingTone and click the "Speaker button". If the speaker button is greyed out click on the Track that you want to hear and when you can see the speaker click on it.
An Audio version of the RingTone will be downloaded and played provided your computer has Audio capabilities. "Media" player will appear. To play click on the green arrow. You can listen to as many RingTones as you want. Each one will only take a few seconds to download and is automatically deleted once you leave SoftRingTone.
